I don’t know about you, but difficult and challenging relationships get me down, and I much prefer harmony in all my relationships!
Being a seasoned Coach and Hypnotherapist I know only too well the impact they can have in our life, and that most of the difficulties are as a result of misunderstandings in communication and how the mind likes to add arms and legs to things that have nothing to do with the relationships at all.
Relationships with others can take up an enormous space in our mind, and the challenges of balancing our relationships especially those that are challenging can cause us a great deal of unwanted stress and emotional turmoil.
Challenging relationships no matter whom they are with, I believe are one of the top energy drainers in our day-to-day life. You can spend hours, days, weeks, months or even years in turmoil trying to work through the difficulties that challenging relationships bring.
Maybe you spend time worrying about saying or doing the right thing, or questioning how this person can treat you in certain ways.
Maybe you have a boss, or a parent, or some other significant person in your life that always presses your buttons and rubs you up the wrong way, and no matter what you do there is always conflict, and you are left feeling negative, angry and emotional. And if you are anything like me you get to the point where you just want to cut them out your life, but you know that’s not realistic as you have to either work or live with these people, also at the end of the day, you would much rather have harmony than walk away.
If that’s the case, then here is a great technique that I use when I find myself getting sucked into all that negativity, which helps me re-connect with the goodness in all my relationships and find a way to bring harmony back and a new perspective.
I have found the best way to change a relationship is to change your perception of the relationship, as soon as you make a mental shift towards the person you are having difficulty with your whole energy changes.
As you change, the people around you change, it’s true!
I have used this to change some of my closest relationships radically. The easiest way to change your perception of a situation or the person you have a relationship with is to change what you focus on.
